A FABULOUS line-up of art events have been arranged to take place as part of the Droitwich Festival tomorrow (Saturday).
Victoria Square will be yarn bombed for the special occasion and residents will be able to see a decorative display of extravagant and eye-catching knit items.
There will also be an official inauguration at 11am followed by a showcase of musical acts from across Droitwich.
First to take to the stage will be Laura Sankey who will be followed by Lauren Bough, Aymee Weir, Wilfs Carnival (Ukulele) Band, singer Polly Edwards, Droitwich Spa Community Choir, and Droitwich Spa High School. Year eight and nine students have planned to sing in duets and give audiences a special performance.
Each act will be on stage for around 45 minutes at a time.
From 7pm there will be a Live Lit event from Droitwich Arts Network at the Parks Cafe, in Victoria Square.
Poets from around the region will be providing a varied and entertaining programme which has become an established part of Droitwich Spa’s Summer Festival.
The line-up includes Sarah James who runs the Poetry Society’s Worcestershire Stanza, Fergus McGonnigall who is the current Worcestershire Poet Laureate, Math Jones, Mike Alma and Nina Lewis.
Polly Robinson, Ruth Stacey and Heather Wastie, who could be the next Worcestershire Poet Laureate, will also be making an appearance.
