Classic Agatha Christie gets under way at Droitwich's Norbury Theatre

Tristan Harris 24th Mar, 2017   0

A CLASSIC Agatha Christie murder mystery is being performed at Droitwich’s Norbury Theatre this weekend and next week.

The first performance of The Hollow took place last night and the next performances are at 7.30pm tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).

The final shows will be staged at 7.30pm on Thursday, next Friday and next Saturday (March 30 and 31 and April 1).

The show centres on an unhappy game of romantic follow-my-leader which explodes into murder one weekend at The Hollow, home of Sir Henry and Lady Lucy Ankatell.

Dr Cristow is in the middle of the trouble when his mistress Henrietta, ex-mistress Veronica and wife Gerda, simultaneously arrive at the property.

Also among the guests are Edward who is in love with Henrietta and Midge who loves Edward.

Veronica ardently desires to marry Cristow and succeeds in re-opening their affair but is unable to get him to divorce his wife.

Veronica unwisely states if she cannot have him, no one shall. Within five minutes Cristow is dead. Nearly everyone has a motive and most had the opportunity. Enter Insp Colquhoun and Sgt Penny to solve the crime.

Tickets are £11 (£10 concessions), available at www.norburytheatre.co.uk or by calling 01905 770154.
