A NEW venture which sees live productions beamed to the big screen at Droitwich’s Norbury Theatre via satellite from some of the UK’s top drama venues gets under way next week.

And the first one – Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece The Importance of Being Earnest from London’s Vaudeville Theatre – will be streamed at 7.15pm on Thursday (October 8).

It sees David Suchet – the celebrated actor and star of hit TV show Poirot – take the role of the formidable Lady Bracknell.

Other stars in the show include Michael Benz, who has been in Downton Abbey, Michele Dotrice who shot to fame as Betty in Some Mothers Do Ave ‘Em and Richard O’Callaghan who has starred in Carry On Loving and Carry on at Your Convenience.

This superb satire on Victorian manners has been described as one of the funniest plays in the English language which is guaranteed to have the audience literally laughing out loud.

Tickets for Thursday’s show are £12.50 and are available by visiting www.norburytheatre.co.uk or by calling 01905 770154
