The Maltstone Pub and Kitchen in Cutnall Green - welcoming a touch of the city to the country

Droitwich Editorial 28th Apr, 2017 Updated: 23rd May, 2017   0

WHETHER you want a quality well-presented meal or a casual drink, the Maltstone in Cutnall Green will have something for you.

The popular pub and restaurant was opened in December by Gee and Ruby who have been receiving rave reviews from their customers and the venue has already jumped to eighth place out of 270 restaurants after averaging 4.5 stars after just 90 days on TripAdvisor.

The dishes on offer include as much locally sourced ingredients as possible seasonal and a twist on classic British dishes, such as a trio of pork, fresh mackerel with purple potato salad and open top Beef Wellington.

One dish that has got a lot of attention is the Special Steak on the stone which sees prime cuts brought to the table ready to cook on a sizzling stone so customers can cook it to their liking.

Ruby said: “The steak on the stone is quite an experience and well worth a try.”

Also on offer are a selection of Napolese style pizzas cooked in an open kitchen wood fire oven.

Alongside a seasonal menu the Maltstone is especially proud of its weekly specials which showcase some of the kitchen’s best skills.

The same care and attention has been given to the drinks selection, the in-house sommelier has carefully selected wines to match the food from many locations around the world.

Being a free house also allows a totally unique selection of beers, which include an ever-changing variety of local cask ales and an array of cocktails and spirits.

Ruby added: “Since opening just four months ago, we have already had some fantastic feedback from guests, from the high standards we keep the bar and lines to the presentation and unique flavours of our food.

“We are striving for that ever better experience and won’t stop.

“We have only really started to see what we are capable of and are excited for the coming months, including our first ever taster menu and music event on May 29.

“We think it is important to have the balance between being a ‘destination pub’ where people come for a few casual drinks and a place where people can enjoy a mouth-watering meal with family and friends.”

The Maltstone is open from midday to 11pm Monday to Thursday, 11.30am to midnight Friday and Saturday and between midday and 8.30pm on Sunday.

The restaurant is open from midday to 3pm and then 6pm to 9.30pm Monday to Thursday, from midday to 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday and between midday and 6pm on Sunday.
