FAMOUS Ealing comedy The Titfield Thunderbolt will take centre stage in Droitwich this May, writes Rhys Goodfellow.

The Norbury Players are gearing up to bring the renowned 1950s film to life for six nights.

The production charts the efforts of local villagers, determined to keep their theatre running following the closure of their nearby railway line.

It follows a heart-warming endeavor coupled with plenty of humour to keep audiences of all ages entertained throughout.

Director Glynis Smith, who has spent months overseeing rehearsals, said: “I am a huge fan of The Titfield Thunderbolt and I have always wanted to bring it to the stage.

“I am sure audiences won’t be disappointed.”

The production will run from Thursday (May 11) to Saturday (May 13) and again from May 18 to May 20.

Performances start at 7.30pm and tickets, which cost £10 and £11, are available from the box office on 01905 770154.
