A DROITWICH pub owner and landlord will be spreading the love in Droitwich ahead of Valentine’s Day (February 14) by offering one lucky couple dinner for two at his much-acclaimed venue.
Simon Berry, who runs the Gardeners Arms, has launched his competition exclusively with The Standard which boasts the delightful dinner .
Although not included in the prize, as well as enjoying the meal, the lucky couple may also want to try out the new ‘Wine Library’ which has recently been launched at the Vines Lane venue.
Teaming up with connoisseur and expert Phil Davis who has more than 20 years experience working with Crown Cellars – one of the World’s biggest wine traders – Simon has compiled a list of 18 wonderful world class wines for residents to try and enjoy.
Among them are eight red, eight white and two rose – from a number of countries, including Spain, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and Chile.
And the menu has been colour co-ordinated so people can match up the wines with the variety of meals on offer at the Gardeners, have them with a cheese board or just drink them on their own.
‘The Wine Library’ also features tasting notes on each of the wines and hints and tips about how to ‘taste’ wine.
Rather than buying a bottle of wine and drinking the same one, people can pay for the equivalent of a bottle (three large glasses or six small glasses) and then choose three or six different wines.
To enter the competition, just answer this question.
How many wines are on offer from the Gardeners Arms Wine Library?
Send your answers and contact details to louise.hillman@bullivantmedia.com or write to Valentine’s Competition, The Standard, Webb House, Church Green East, Redditch. B98 8BP. The deadline for answers is Friday (February 3).
