A LARGE amount of cannabis plants have been found in Droitwich after a raid on a retail premises.
Officers gained entry to a property on Wednesday (October 16) and discovered 50 plants alongside evidence of someone residing in the premises.
Nobody was located during the raid carried out by West Mercia Police’s South Worcestershire Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team (NCFT), Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and Worcester response officers.
A spokesperson for South Worcestershire NCFT said: “Following police intelligence and information provided by members of the Droitwich community, we have acted on this, and 50 Cannabis plants have been found.
“This highlights the importance of the public continuing to report any issues concerning them. We will investigate and then if appropriate, act on the information provided.
“Cannabis cultivation is often a key source of illicit income for groups involved in other serious and organised crime so the removal of these plants will bring disruption”.
