A COUNTRY retreat near Droitwich is being hailed as the perfect place for an autumn adventure this October half-term, with fun activities for all the family.
National Trust’s Hanbury Hall has something for all visitors across its half term events.
Visitors can learn all about creepy critters in a Zoolab Animal Show and get up close with snakes, rats, giant snails, tarantulas and more (October 29, 30, and 31).
Visit the craft area in the Long Gallery and make your own paper lantern inspired by folklore and festivals (October 26, 27, 28 October and November 1, 2, and 3). £2 per lantern.
Upgrade your Halloween costume with spooky face painting by local face painter Joy Edgington. In the Long Gallery on October 28, November 1, and November 1 from 10am to 4pm.
Discover the changing light and colour in the gardens with our family trail Lights, Colour, Autumn. Pick up a trail booklet in Visitor Reception for £2 each, every day of half term.
Inside the Hall, explore an autumn display and find out more about folklore and festivals associated with the season, including Diwali, Harvest Festivals and Halloween. See if you can find all the knitted bats hiding throughout the Hall.
Wrap-up warm and head off on a stroll around 400 acres of parkland and enjoy jumping in crunchy leaves and the invigorating fresh air.
Visit the Courtyard Kitchen or dog-friendly Stables Café for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon treat made with organic produce harvested from the Walled Garden.
