A CARE home in Droitwich has been shortlisted for a national award for providing stellar access to the outdoors for its residents.
Rashwood Care Home is tipped for the Best Outdoor Environment Award in the seventh annual Caring UK Awards which recognise excellence and achievement within the care sector across the UK.
The home says its honoured with the nomination after focusing on the beneficial impacts on health and wellbeing for residents through access to outdoor enrichment and activities.
Residents at the home love spending time outdoors and the home’s gardens enable this. Residents and team members work together to create displays such as their Potted Perfection display in July 2024.
They also recycled old bicycles, footwear, and a pram to shed light on healthy lifestyles and environmental consciousness. Residents use the gardens as a space to walk, grow vegetables and fruits or relax.
To honour the home’s late residents, many families have planted tree’s or have memorial benches to remember their loved ones and visit.
Caring UK Awards event director Dominic Musgrave said: “With more entries than ever before, our finalists really have reason to celebrate as it’s a huge achievement to have made the shortlist and is testament to the teams behind each.”
