A DROITWICH Air Cadet who has had a distinguished career since joining up has been awarded the prestigious rank of Cadet Warrant Officer.
Hannah Watson first became a member of 2516 (Droitwich) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets, in 2010 and has now progressed to the highest achievable cadet rank after completing flying scholarships, attending overseas camps and being appointed as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet.
West Mercian’s Wing Commander Andy Griffin attended the squadron in person to present Hannah with her award.
She described the rare promotion as ‘a great honour’ and said: “I’ve had such fantastic experiences during my time with the Squadron and I’m sure I’ll have more before I leave.”
Hannah will retire from her cadet duties this year and is hoping to pursue a career with the Royal Air Force.
The Air Cadets is a youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Air Force.
