Droitwich band Nestar chosen to celebrate Bob Marley anniversary

A DROITWICH band has played its part in celebrating the 30th anniversary of Bob Marley’s epic album Legend.

Nestar was one of the five UK acts chosen to perform on stage at The Vaults, in London, with David Rodigan as part of a special event organised by Ben and Jerrys.

The event marked the launch of its new flavour ‘Satisfy my Bowl’ which is a concoction of banana ice cream, caramel and cookie swirls and chocolatey peace signs.

The new flavour has been developed with the help of the Reggae star’s family.

All the proceeds will be donated to 1Love Foundation and Partners for Youth Empowerment which helps young people in Jamaica with their creative skills.

Ed Shepherd, Ben and Jerry’s social mission manager, said they had a rich heritage of campaigning for social justice and by partnering with the Marley family they had been able to lend its voice to the legend’s vision of peace, love and equality.
