THE HEAD of Droitwich Civic Society has praised Spa residents who visited the group’s stall during Salt Day and gave their views on the future of the town.
People spoke to members about a number of proposals, including the plans for the High Street, the Union Lane Development, Yew Tree Hill, Copcut and Netherwich Basin.
But, it was the Raven Hotel which generated most interest – people in general were supportive of the proposed development, but there were more concerns raised about the plans, including lack of parking provision for the planned 160-seat restaurant, the society said.
It added people also said they wanted The Raven’s design to reflect the history of the building and tended to favour the red brick frontage.
George Leech, Droitwich Civic Society chairman, said. “We were delighted local people stopped at the stand at Salt Fest and were prepared to give us their opinions on planning projects.
“The Civic Society is very keen to get people’s views in order that as a society we can reflect these in our recommendations to planners and developers.”
