PARKS in Droitwich have maintained their Green Flag status.
The Wychavon-run Lido Park/St Peter’s Fields and Vines Park have all achieved the prestigious accolade from Keep Britain Tidy.
Lynn Stevens, parks officer at Wychavon, said she was thrilled parks across the district – including the ones in Droitwich – were able to keep the Green Flags flying.
“There is so much to enjoy in our parks – we have children’s play areas and water play facilities, cycle paths, skate parks, picnic benches, plenty of seating, and of course lots and lots of green open space.”
Coun Ron Davis, portfolio holder for contracted services, environment and health, said: “My congratulations go to the parks team for their continued devotion to maintaining the parks very high standards for the benefit of all who use them.”
Paul Todd, Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag award scheme manager, said: “A Green Flag Award provides national recognition for all the parks managers, staff and volunteers who, through their dedication and hard work, have helped to create these fantastic places for everyone to enjoy.”
