USING Wychavon’s public toilets is now an even more accessible experience after the completion of the latest Changing Places facilities.
Lido Park in Droitwich Spa and Broadway Activity Park have both been extended to include the dedicated spaces, which support people with a range of disabilities who need more support than a standard accessible toilet.
Both toilets include specialist equipment such as a ceiling hoist, adjustable height changing bench and extra space.
The project was funded as part of a £210,000 government grant which also saw Changing Places facilities added to Oat Street toilets in Evesham.
Nine of Wychavon’s 11 public toilets now have Changing Places facilities and they are available in every town in the district as well as Broadway.
Councillor Beverley Hardman, executive board member for boosting natural capital on Wychavon District Council, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the completion of the latest Changing Places facilities which means residents and visitors with complex care needs can now use our loos with dignity, independence and peace of mind.”
