A FORMER England cricket star officially unveiled a new state-of-the-art MRI scanner at the BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital.
Ashley Giles, who has won almost every top honour in the cricketing world, was the special guest at the celebratory event.
The Mayor of Droitwich Coun Graham Beale also attended the day with Giles who unveiled the GE 450W wide-bore MRI scanner and a Toshiba Aquilion Prime CT scanner – now the centrepieces of the hospital’s imaging department.
The scanners are part of a £2million partnership project between BMI Healthcare and Alliance Medical Ltd.
Giles said: “BMI Droitwich Spa has a special relationship with people in the town and surrounding area and it is great to see it investing in such top quality equipment.
“I think it represents a major boost for healthcare services in the entire region.”
