A DAY packed full of music, theatre, dance and food will be held in Droitwich this Sunday (June 29) when FriarFest returns to the town after a two-year break.
The first event was held in 2012 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of The Old Cock in Friar Street and it is now back by popular demand.
Outside, on the main stage, there will be a performance by Droitwich Community Choir, along with acts playing jazz, ska, reggae, blues, country and acoustic music. There will also be belly dancing and theatre.
Inside the pub there will be a variety of acoustic, folk and alternative folk artists taking to the stage and some more theatre.
Food on offer will range from hot dogs to Caribbean cuisine and there will also be ice cream available, as well as an outside bar.
The Old Cock is run by Graham Leonard and Stuart Wilcox.
Graham said: “Once again, the council has allowed us to close Friar Street to allow customers to enjoy the food, stalls and bands that will be on throughout the day.
“Even though it was meant to be a one-off, it proved so popular we’ve been asked to do it again by too many customers to ignore.”
The pair have a marquee standing by to keep everyone under cover if the weather turns.
“So whatever happens, it should be a great day for everyone.” added Graham.
