THE FAIRGROUND rides at tomorrow’s Droitwich Christmas lights switch-on tomorrow (Saturday) have been cancelled.
The decision has been taken due to a Met Office weather warning as Storm Bert is set to batter the region, bringing high winds and heavy rain.
There will still be plenty of festive fun for all the family going on as Droitwich Town Council has moved a lot of the attractions indoors.
The popular Santa’s Grotto, ran by Droitwich Lions, will be in St Richard’s House from 12pm to 5pm.
There will be live entertainment in The Community Hall, Heritage Way, between 12pm and 6pm.
Among those taking to the stage will be Norbury Theatre performers, the Salvation Army Band, ENTW9 dance display, SB Danceworks and Westacre Middle School.
The I-Sing Choir will be performing in St Andrews Shopping centre at 5.15pm
And the countdown and switch-on by Mayor, Coun Alex Sinton (and Father Christmas) will be at 6pm
Car parking will be free of charge from midday on Wychavon car parks.
