Ideas put forward for Droitwich's first ever Edward Winslow Day

Tristan Harris 19th Aug, 2024   0

IDEAS have been put forward for Droitwich’s first ever Edward Winslow Day.

A meeting was held earlier this month so people could put forward their suggestions.

Among them was to fly the American flag in the town and decorate the Edward Winslow statue in St Andrews Square.

Some pub and bar owners mooted the idea of creating Winslow-themed cocktails.

Bob Stone, who build the Augmented Reality (AR) digital Mayflower experience is heading out to Plymouth in Massachusetts to spread the word and create links between the town and the place where it all began.

And James Hobbs, who is from Texas and was interested in the planned events and activities, got in touch with the Droitwich Standard and we, in turn, put him in touch with organiser Coun Richard Morris.

Edward Winslow Day will take place in the town on November 28.

Anyone else with other ideas should email Coun Richard Morris at richard.morris@wychavon.net for more information.
