A MANUFACTURING firm in Droitwich is gearing up to host a jobs fair to showcase opportunities for youngsters in the sector.
As part of Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day, Armstrong Fluid Technology is opening its doors to the local community to share the careers paths on offer for youngsters on September 26 at Pointon Way, Stonebridge Cross Business Park.
The company will put on a series of tours and activities designed to demonstrate what manufacturing is all about.
Staff teams will be on hand to speak about what inspired them to take up a career in the sector and the opportunities they have had to progress and train.
The day is open to all age groups, from school leavers to more experienced workers looking at reskilling, and it will also enable the local community to find out more about manufacturing carried out in the Droitwich area.
Armstrong Fluid Technology relocated its factory to Droitwich in 2021 when its operations outgrew its previous site in Halesowen.
The company manufactures packaged heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions for the data centre, gas transmission, commercial, district energy and other markets.
Ian Harris, production training team leader at Armstrong Fluid Technology said: “We are delighted to be taking part in National Manufacturing Day, and very much look forward to welcoming students, teachers and careers advisers to our company.
“We have an active and successful apprenticeship programme with places available for new trainees.
“I would also like to stress we have opportunities for people who are already in the job market, but would like to develop new skills, in order to change career and get ahead.”
Stephen Phipson, CEO of Make UK, the manufacturers’ organisation added: “This is a really exciting day where the whole manufacturing sector will come together to celebrate the amazing things Britain designs and makes.”
