THERE is now just a week to go until Friar Fest returns to the town.
The extravaganza of culture, music and dance will take place from 11am to 9pm next Saturday (June 6) both inside the Old Cock Inn, Friar Street, and outside the venue.
More than 80 performers will take to stages throughout the day and hundreds of revellers are expected at the event.
There will be a variety of food on offer and an outside bar will be set up as residents come together in a carnival atmosphere in one of the oldest streets in the Spa.
The main stage will showcase 13 varied acts, including iTunes top 20 singer/ songwriter Ben Stancombe, The Norbury Players, a Bavarian band, folk music, a ukulele group, blues and funk rock, disco, acoustic performers and more.
This year’s headline acts from 7pm feature Dennis Seaton – the front man from 80s chart-toppers Musical Youth – and funk rock and blues band Hump De Bump, with the Capital ending the event from 9.30pm inside the Old Cock Inn.
The event started in June 2012 when the Old Cock celebrated its 300th anniversary.
It was brought back last year, due to popular demand and branded Friar Fest.
