WEST MERCIA Police are appealing for witnesses after a fat collision in Worcester.
The crash happened on the A4538, Pershore Lane in Spetchley yesterday evening (Thursday August, 16).
At around 5.30pm, a BMW 120D crashed into a Triumph motorbike, causing serious but not life-threatening injuries to the motorbike rider.
The car then hit a second motorbike, a Yamaha and the rider, a man in his 50s.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the motorcyclist had sustained life-threatening injuries and, despite receiving advanced trauma care and advanced life support from ambulance staff, he died at the scene.
A second motorcyclist, a woman, was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained serious injuries. She received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.”
A man, who was driving the car and a child, who was a passenger in the car, were assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.
They received self-care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen the vehicles travelling prior to the collision.
