DROITWICH is to have its first ever Christmas Market, which will be officially opened by town mayor Coun Bob Brookes and the dame from the Norbury Theatre’s panto Sleeping Beauty.
The event, which gets under way at 10am next Saturday (December 20), will also feature a real German Christmas delicacy – Schokokusse – that translates as ‘Chocolate Kisses’.
Coun Brookes said: “Our own Norbury Theatre is getting ready for this year’s panto so having a real dame, Dotty Dooright, to open the event with me was just too good an opportunity to miss.”
The Christmas market is being piloted by Droitwich Town Council and Coun Brookes urged residents to support the venture and Droitwich traders in the run up to the big day. It will run all-day, everyday, until and including Christmas Eve.
People are urged to get there early so they do not miss out.
The Norbury’s Sleeping Beauty will be staged in January. For tickets, visit www.norburytheatre.co.uk or call the box office on 01905 770154.
