A PUB in Droitwich aims to make history by creating the Midlands’ biggest ever Bratwurst to celebrate Germany’s Oktoberfest.
The Castle in Droitwich Spa is set to celebrate the launch of its inaugural Oktoberfest event on September 21 by building the 12.12 metre long German hotdog to represent the distance between the venue and Theresienwiese Munchen – the home of the Oktoberfest.
During the free to attend event, punters can sample a free piece of the giant hotdog from 3pm, and try a new German inspired menu accompanied by traditional beer and a live Oompah band from 2pm.
Traditional dress is welcomed, with free drinks up for grabs with every costume.
Rebecca Hall, general manager at The Castle, said: “We can’t wait to celebrate Oktoberfest at The Castle and make history by creating the longest bratwurst the Midlands has ever seen.
“It will be a big challenge to create, but we can’t wait to see the final result.
The Castle’s Oktoberfest menu will be available until October 31.
