THERE were plenty of craft activities going on at Westmead Care Home in Droitwich yesterday (Thursday) when the staff and residents took part ina celebration for Chinese New Year.
The home was decorated with Chinese lanterns beairng the words Kung Hei Fat Choy, which translates as Happy Chinese New Year to the Year of the Wood Sheep.
Residents got to sample mouth-watering Chinese food, crack open some fortune cookies and wear some Oriental outfits.
The home’s activities leader Maureen Morse said: “Our residents are so creative and really enjoy themed celebrations, especially where nice food is involved.
“We all had great fun creating stunning decorations to make sure our home was dressed to impress.”
Joan Dewdney, 98, was among those taking part.
She said: “I loved making the lanterns and having them sit on our windowsill with the sun shining through, it’s truly beautiful.”
