Police warning after a moped and seven motorbikes are stolen from Droitwich in 12 days

THOUSANDS of pounds worth of motorcycles have been stolen in Droitwich in the last fortnight.

Thieves have escaped with a moped, seven bikes and a 4×4 after targeting addresses around the town.

The first incident, between 10am on July 10 and 2pm the next day, saw a £500 pink Direct Moped, with the registration number VX64 NBJ, taken from Ladywood Road, Martin Hussingtree. After breaking down, it was left in a lane between Fernhill Heath and Droitwich. When the owner returned it had gone.

Criminals also escaped with a silver Nissan XTrail, regisration SL52 EVV, and two KTM off-road motorcycles – one was orange and the other was white and blue.




They were taken from a shed in Hampton Lovett between 12pm on July 13 and 10.30am the next day. A £300 petrol Stihl garden leaf blower, a Stihl petrol strimmer and petrol hedge trimmer were also taken.

A £2,000 White Yamaha 125R motorcycle, with the number plate VN14 FYO, was stolen a night later between 10pm on July 15 and 5.25am on July 16.


The vehicle was on the driveway, secured with a steering lock and chain, on Sheldon Close, Wychbold. It was later found at 6.15am in nearby woodland.

There was damage to the seat, ignition and the plastic trims had been ripped off, causing damage totalling £1,500.

Criminals also escaped with an orange, black, red and white Honda Repsil, G8 HDS, worth £2,500.

They vehicle was taken between 1am and 8.30am on July 16 from a driveway on Grosvenor Way. It was later found in Weoley Castle.

A few days later on July 19 a Black Honda CB500 motorcycle, with the registration W304 SCU, was stolen from a a driveway on Baxter Drive, Wychbold, between 3am and 2pm.

That bike had a chain securing the back wheel.

Thieves stole a £2,000 orange and black Honda Repsil motorbike, BK62 MZX, between 10.30pm on July 21 and 2.10am the next morning after breaking into a garage and house on Jackdaw Lane.

They stole the keys to the vehicle from the property.

And the latest incident, between 9pm on July 22 and 8am on July 23, saw thieves break into a garage at Doverdale. They took a Red Pit bike valued at £1,500 along with four generators worth £600.

Insp Janet Heritage, from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team, urged all motorcycle owners to be extra vigilant and to step up their security measures to prevent their bikes from being taken.

At this stage police have not linked all of thefts.
