POLITICIANS from across the district were recently invited to see behind the curtain of the local warehousing industry as part of an event to highlight its importance.
Property company, Potter Space, hosted the political chiefs at its Droitwich Business Park site as part of the UK Warehousing Association’s (UKWA) ‘Around the Warehouses in 80 Visits’ campaign.
Droitwich MP Nigel Huddleston, Elmley Lovett Parish councillor, Nicholas Wright and head of economic development at Wychavon District Council, Shaun Riley were welcomed to the site on Wednesday, August 7.
The campaign is a national initiative launched by UKWA to mark the organisation’s 80th anniversary in 2024. UKWA CEO Clare Bottle is visiting 80 warehouses across the UK.
Clare Bottle, CEO of UKWA, said: “Through this campaign, we aim to turn the spotlight onto the millions of people who work in warehousing and the incredible work they do.
“Events like this help to raise the profile of the sector and showcase the innovation and diversity of businesses operating within it.”
During the tour, the guests visited several of Potter Space’s existing tenants to gain a better understanding of the varied businesses operating out of the park.
Jason Rockett, managing director of Potter Space, said: “Potter Space is proud to host this important event as part of UKWA’s 80th anniversary celebrations.
“We’re excited to showcase the success of our existing customers and share our plans for future development.”
