YOUNGSTERS from Droitwich’s Westbury Celtic FC and the club’s management delivered some Christmas cheer to St Richard’s Hospice when they donated gifts to the charity’s Dragonfly Group.
The presents were given by the football club’s Westbury Celtic Tigers, the Youth U14s and the youth teams manager’s colleagues who work on Jaguar LandRover’s green shift.
They were delivered on Sunday (December 7) in time for the Dragonfly Group’s Christmas party on Wednesday (December 10).
The Dragonfly Group is for bereaved children, young people and their parents or carers. It is held once a month on a Thursday when families benefit from professional and peer support. Those who go along can chat to others in similar situations.
St Richard’s head of family support, Sarah Popplestone-Helm, said: “This is such a delightful and thoughtful donation of presents for the young people in our Dragonfly Group.
“We are very grateful for the gifts and they will remind the youngsters that other people are thinking about them and their situation this Christmas.”
Westbury Celtic FC volunteer co-ordinator Natalie Ward said: “The management team of Westbury Celtic Tigers and the Youth U14s said they would like to thank all those involved who donated a gift.
“We hope the children enjoy their party and take some comfort knowing they will be in our thoughts and prayers this Christmas and new year.”
