THERE was a buzz of excitement in the air at the opening of the Droitwich Spa Remember the Radio exhibition on Monday (July 28).
Around 40 people turned up to reminisce about the old days at the town’s Heritage and Information Centre in St Richard’s House.
Visitors will now be able to view a large showcase of BBC broadcasting memorabilia, radios and photographs which have been put on display to mark the 80th anniversary of the Wychbold Radio Masts.
The exhibition, which will run until September 13, is made up of many items lent out by former BBC Spatan John Philips.
One of the heritage managers, Rebecca Pye, said: “It went really well – everybody was really impressed.
“Everyone said it invoked memories of their childhoods when Droitwich was on the radio.”
Opening times are from Monday to Saturday 10am until 4pm and on a Sunday between 10am and 1.30pm.
