THOSE interested in supporting the Willow Court Farmhouse restoration project through volunteering will soon have a chance to learn more about how they can help out.
The Willow Court Farmhouse Safe as Houses project team are delighted to announce an upcoming coffee morning for prospective volunteers and those wishing to learn more about how to get involved in the project.
As part of the project, which expects to restore and convert the historic building into six flats by 2026, the team are keen to uncover and tell the history of the farmhouse and that is where they need volunteer support.
The team are looking for volunteers to conduct research into the site and its past inhabitants, gather oral histories of those with connections to the site, photograph and video the site to help keep records of the restoration process, help out at future outreach events such as tours during Heritage Open Days, and more.
The coffee morning for prospective volunteers will take place at the Droitwich CVS Rotary House on Wednesday, November 13 between 10:30 am and 12 noon. Refreshments will be provided.
Willow Court Farmhouse, known previously as Boycott Farmhouse is a grade II listed building hidden away in a residential area of Droitwich. Little is known about this local landmark, which has been uninhabited for decades.
Worcestershire Building Preservation Trust has taken on the challenge to conserve the building, record its history and create six new affordable flats for rent. The project is made possible by support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Also supporting the project is The Architectural Heritage Fund, Wychavon District Council and Platform Housing.
