Witton Middle School to bid a fond farewell to popular teacher Mr Dunn

A POPULAR Droitwich teacher will be hearing the school bell for the last time today (Wednesday) when he retires after 38 years.

Chris Dunn has taught hundreds of pupils during his time at Witton Middle School and has even taught some of the current staff there.

He joined as a probationer to teach PE, before taking up the role permanently and becoming head of the department.

He then became assistant headteacher and later, when he chose to go part-time, back to teaching PE.

Over the years he has inspired countless budding young sportsmen and women in the town and will be greatly missed.

Office manager Sharon Wilkinson said: “He has seen many changes even having taught some of our current staff, and has been through a range of impressive hairstyles over the years.

“Witton staff and pupils wish him the very best retirement and thank him for everything he has done for the school and community.”

Mr Dunn said: “I have stayed so long because it is a great school with great kids and we have had a lot of success here.

“I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received in person and on Facebook.”

He said he planned to use his well-earned retirement to go travelling and play some more golf.
