A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital following a crash in Droitwich today (Thursday).
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) was called to St Andrews Road shortly after 1.45pm.
Three ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and a helicopter from Strensham attended the scene following the collision involving two cars.
A WMAS spokesperson said two women, who were believed to be the passengers of the stationary car, were stood next to the vehicle when it was hit from behind by a second car.
She added how one of the women, thought to be in her 70s, sustained a nasty leg injury.
Ambulance staff carefully applied dressings to her wound and administered pain relief before she was immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board.
The woman was then airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency treatment.
The second woman, believed to be in her 40s, was assessed but found to have suffered no injuries.
No one else was injured.
