BROMSGROVE professional darter Andy ‘The Pie Man’ Smith will face off against Dutchman Jermaine ‘The Machine’ Wattimena in the first round of the Coral UK Open next week.
On Friday, March 4 at the Butlins Resort in Minehead, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) world number 44 will be hoping he can beat his best ever UK Open performances.
From 2009 to 2011, Smith reached the last 16 of the PDC major event – which is played in leg format rather than sets – but has failed to reach those heights over the last four years.
Should Smith progress, he will meet either Kevin Dowling or Dick van Dijk in the second round which is to be played on the same day.
The Coral UK Open is live on ITV4 from 11.45am.
