THERE was double joy for Jack Walters and Sophie Oliver as they claimed the singles and doubles titles at Bromsgrove Tennis Club.
Walters got his revenge on Mick Collins, who he lost to in last year’s Men’s B final, with a straight sets win before the junior champion teamed up with Pete Morris to beat Collings and Tim Roland in equally impressive style.
Oliver also had a day to remember as she defeated Sophie Cornelius in the Ladies A final before winning the mixed doubles title with Steve Jones as they eased past Roland and Sarah Davies.
It could have got even better for Oliver as she contested the Ladies A doubles final with Millie Doherty, but they had no response to Imogen Sinclair and Corenlius who romped to a two-sets victory.
Meanwhile, Davies and Connie Wedelich won the Ladies B doubles title after coming out on top in a tense tussle against Anne Simper and Sue Forrest, while Carol Cornelissen defeated Naomi Moore 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 in the Ladies B singles final.
