DROITWICH Boxing Club’s female section enhanced its growing reputation as Sophie Morton claimed another championship victory.
Morton won the Three Nations title in Doncaster after defeating Alnwick ABC’s Jessica Pattinson who she also beat to win her recent national schools title.
The 14-year-old Spa fighter took all three rounds of the contest in which she forced a standing count on her opponent in the third.
Coach Jayson Doyle said: “With the momentum of the national championships, we were confident that Sophie would go up to the Three Nations and come back with gold and her performance fully merited this latest title.
“Her victory has rounded off a successful season for Droitwich Boxing Club with four major tournament victories, so our boxers can enjoy a deserved rest for a few weeks before their pre-season work starts again.”
