DROITWICH Men’s D got their Herefordshire and Worcestershire Winter League Division Nine East campaign off to an excellent start with a 4-0 victory over Stourbridge E.
Peter Fawcus and James McKelvey were in dazzling form as they dominated both of their matches 6-3, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 respectively.
Ian Ross and David Wicks were equally as destructive as they won both of their respective matches 6-1, 6-4 and 6-4, 7-5 to secure a comfortable victory.
Meanwhile, the Ladies E team slumped to a 3-1 defeat away at Division Nine East early pacesetters Belbroughton.
Caroline Hawley and Angela Creese lost their first match against solid opposition 3-6, 2-6 before responding well with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in their second match to keep the contest alive.
However, despite the best efforts of Julia Rollit and Jackie Holiday, they lost both of their matches 4-6, 3-6 and 4-6, 6-7 respectively.
