DROITWICH’S Mixed F team remain second in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer League Division Six East table following their 4-0 win at Bewdley A.
Alison Whiteman and Jonathan Carter came from behind to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in their first match and 6-0, 7-6 in their second.
Roger Whiteman and Alexa Dean played some excellent tennis to win 6-4, 6-2 before a gritty display in their second match saw them prevail 6-0, 5-7, 7-6.
The Ladies B moved up to second in Division Three with a 5-1 victory against Evesham.
Kate Hughes and Margaret Hughes picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win in their first match and backed it up with a 6-3, 6-0 success in their second.
Sue Webber and Heather Fellows produced a fine display to win 6-3, 6-2 in their first match but were beaten 3-6, 4-6 in their second.
Linda Price and Lydia Walker-Cox were in excellent form and secured the victory with two 6-3, 6-2 victories.
The Men’s A team are up to fifth in Division One after securing a superb 5-1 home victory over Stourbridge B.
Neil Bates and Eric Cartelet took a step up from the respective C and B teams and gave a good account of themselves.
Despite losing a tight match 6-4, 1-6, 0-6, they won their second 3-6, 6-3, 7-6.
Joe Maidment and Matt Baker combined well to win 6-1, 6-0 in their first match and 6-3, 6-4 in their second.
Lee Cowan and Mark Jones were in red hot form as they won 6-0, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-0 respectively as Droitwich sealed a comfortable win.
The Ladies E took a big step towards survival in Division Seven East after securing a vital 4-2 victory over local rivals Bromsgrove E.
With the pressure on, Joy Baker, Helen Whiteside, Sue Brice and Janine Billinge won all of their matches to secure the points for Droitwich.
The Men’s D team remain in with a shout of promotion from Division Eight East after beating Bromsgrove E 4-2.
James Stanford and Ricky Hollander won 6-4, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-2 respectively to give Droitwich control.
Despite the best efforts of Ian Ross and Chris Passey, they lost their first match 4-6, 2-6 and their second 6-4, 4-6, 6-7.

Penny Maidment and Heidi Harris also tried their best but lost both matches in straight sets against the strong opponents.
Caroline Brookes and Clare Cussen came the closest to grabbing a win for bottom-of-the-table Droitwich as they were beaten 7-5, 1-6, 2-6 in their first match before a 2-6, 2-6 loss in their second.

Mark Venables and Nigel Hughes gave their all but unfortunately lost both of their matches in straight sets.
Jonathan Carter and Dan Ballard lost their first match 3-6, 5-7 but were unlucky to lose their second match 6-3, 4-6, 6-7.
It was a similar story for Sam Reavey and Phil Woodhouse who lost their first match 2-6, 3-6 and their second 4-6, 6-3, 0-6.
Elsewhere, the Ladies C dropped to third in Division Six East after a 4-2 home defeat to Fladbury.
Despite the best efforts of Aileen Baker and Marilyn Sherring, they lost both of their matches 1-6, 3-6 and 6-3, 2-6, 6-7 respectively.
Ishbel Crossley and Christina Sellers produced a battling performance in their first match to win 6-4, 6-2 before a 1-6 1-6 defeat in their second.
Liz French and Julie Rhodes lost 3-6, 3-6 in their first match but responded well with a 6-4, 7-5 win in their second.
