DROITWICH Spa are set for a 30-game 2016/17 Midland League Division Two campaign following the confirmation of the constitution at last night’s (Wednesday) AGM.
Chelmsley Town (promoted to Division One) and Alvis Sporting Club (relegated to Division Three) have departed while Continental Star (relegated from Premier Division) and Smithswood Firs, Redditch Borough and Leamington Hibernian (all promoted from Division Three) come in.
Bloxwich Town – formerly Rostance Edwards – is the only other change to the Division Two constitution.
Alvis, who finished as champions of Division Two and were expected to be promoted, have been relegated due to ground grading issues.
The club have lodged an appeal against the FA’s decision and Midland League officials will be informed of the outcome in due course.
With the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup starting on Saturday, August 6, the Saltmen will kickstart their campaign off on Saturday, August 13.
