THERE was no league action this weekend in the Droitwich Pool League but the focus was on the men’s and ladies’ single knock-out competitions.
In the men’s, Jay Robinson and Phil Green from Premiership side Westcroft Cartel along with Martin King and Connor Harper from Young & Old Ringers qualified for the quarter-finals.
Doverdale’s Arms’ Richard Hands and Star Dinosaurs’ David Webb are the other Premiership representatives in the quarter-finals.
The final two last eight spots are held by Championship sides with Craig Lockyear from The Dovey and Craig Richards from Star Asbo.
In the ladies competition, Karen Bevan, Michelle Honey and Jill Hindle – all from Bells Belles – reached the semi-finals along with The Dovey’s Clare McGregor.
Bevan will take on Honey, with the other semi seeing Hindle take on McGregor.
The quarter-finals and semi-finals of the men’s competition will be the best of three frames held at The Pillar of Salt, Celvestune Way on Thursday April 14.
Meanwhile, the semi-finals of the ladies’ tournament, also best of three frames, will be held on the same day at a venue yet to be decided.
