PROMISING Droitwich boxer Joe Freeman showcased his talent as he took part in a thrilling no-decision skills bout in Walsall last Friday.
The 11-year-old went toe-to-toe with Wednesbury’s Justin Taylor throughout three-action rounds before receiving a well-deserved ovation at the end.
His first appearance marked the start of Droitwich Amateur Boxing Academy’s new season which is set to nuture the town’s talent.
Two youngsters George Butler, 14, who is national champion at his age and weight, and Joseph Doyle, 11, are in action at Portsmouth in two weeks time.
Meanwhile, defending Midlands Counties Welterweight Champion Michael “Buller” Pardoe will also get his campaign up and running when he competes for an England select team against an Irish select side at Villa Park – the home of Aston Villa FC on Saturday.
