KEAN FORD claimed gold in his very first championship.
The Droitwich Spa Judo Kan member took part in the BUYEN Championships held at Kingsbury Leisure Centre in Erdington.
He was understandably nervous but managed to overcome it by winning his first contest.
There were no fears during his second contest before showing determination in the final to claim gold.
A spokesperson for DSJK said: “We as a club are pleased our members show great sportsmanship and respect to all.
“We are also proud that our members support each other.”
