LUCY Hine fired in her second hat-trick of the season as Droitwich Ladies 1st Team hammered Bournville 2nds 5-1.
Droitwich’s first came from great individual skill shown by midfielder Sophie Blackmore as she took on and successfully beat three defenders before slotting the ball home into the bottom corner.
The hosts doubled their lead with a sweetly struck shot from Louise Warrilow which struck the backboard.
After the restart Spa edged further ahead as Jasmine Williams then got in on the action ensuring a Hine shot was fully over the line.
Droitwich continued to dominate throughout the second half with Hine scoring her second before securing her hat trick and 14th goal of the season.
Meanwhile, there was drama in Barlaston as Barry Williams scored in the dying seconds as Droitwich Spa Men clinched a dramatic 4-3 victory.
Barlaston Men’s 1sts proved a tough test for Spa as they took the lead against the run of play. This appeared to fire the Droitwich side up as Peter Prenderville scored from a short corner before Williams edged his side ahead at the start of the second half.
But Droitwich could not seem to shake off the challenge of Barlaston who soon wrestled back the advantage with two goals.
Despite the double blow, Spa continued to fight hard and began to use the flanks with Shaun Laight on the left and Andy Griffiths on the right who fed midfielder and strikers as Barlaston legs began to tire.
Spa pace and skill began to trouble the visitors and they soon profited with Craig Timmis setting up Andy Griffiths who levelled the scores at 3-3.
Barlaston should have got their noses in front again as they had an effort which whistled past the post and Droitwich made them pay for it.
After working the ball down the left, Timmis found an unmarked Barry Williams who coolly slotted home to secure Spa their third win of the season.
