THREE members of Kazoku-Kan’s special needs division took part in the Adaptive Judo Competition held at Rush JC in Berkhamsted and all came away with medals.
Corey Chapman took to the mat first where he lost his first contest but came back strong in the second to claim the victory.
Chapman came away with a bronze medal, based on points scored.
Next up was 15-year-old Sophie Kenny who was up against blue and brown belt seniors in the level three U16 category.
Kenny won all four of her contests to walk away with a gold medal.
Liam Jones, also competing in the level three U16 category, brought home a gold medal after the 15-year-old won all four of his contests.
Senior instructor Rich Morrish said: “It’s such a joy to see these students head into each competition and come back with a smile.
“Medals are a bonus, getting on and giving it a go is where the real victory is achieved.”
