THERE WERE few shocks in the quarter-finals of the Pete Ahearn Spring Cup and Paul Sheen Shadow Cup in midweek.
With the Droitwich Pool League taking a momentary break from Mid-West Premiership action, holders Barley Mow kept themselves on track to retain their Spring Cup title by knocking out The Hop Pole with a 5-3 win.
The Dovey were also victors by the same scoreline, defeating DWMC, while second-placed Masons All Chalked Up eliminated The Star & Garter courtesy of a five frames to two triumph.
Salt ‘n’ Asbo’s complete the line-up for the last four, having received a bye.
In the Shadow Cup, The Doverdale Arms edged The Pillar of Salt 5-4 in a final-frame decider to reach the semi-finals, where they will be joined by The Pillar of Dreams – who ran out 5-3 winners against Never in Salted.
Rifle No Mans and Wessie Wanderers were the lucky sides to receive byes into the next round.
