JAMES Lemon received the plaudits after his double handed Droitwich Spa a 2-1 victory over Barnt Green Spartak.
But Spa’s young guns did suffer several set backs as Lemon was among a number of players to sustained injuries during a physical encounter at The Coppice.
Macauley Finch, Max Crisp and Jasper Alford also picked up bad knocks in a bruising first half, which Spa edged 1-0.
Lemon then added a second after the break before keeper Matt Oliver pulled off a stunning save in the dying moments to ensure victory.
The result followed their 3-0 win which ended Sutton United unbeaten start to the season on Saturday.
The visitors also went into the game having not conceded a goal, but that changed as Nick Seabourne headed home the opener after a strong start.
Chances were coming at regular intervals with new midfield duo Jim Halsall and Crisp showing great resilience and determination to drive the Spa on.
Spa continued to dominate and sealed victory thanks to further goals from Lemon and James Ward.
