Medal glory across the country for Kazoku-Kan

Droitwich Editorial 8th Nov, 2018   0

THERE was plenty of joy for Kazoku-Kan members who picked up a number of medals across the country.

Leah Thakur travelled to the National Open Championships held at the Erdington Academy and competed in a weight category above her own.

She took control in all her contests and came away with a gold medal.

Sophie Kenny and Corey Chapman also secured gold medals at the Adaptive Championships in Hampshire.

At the same competition, Liam Jones and James Palmer claimed a silver medal while Felicity Warburton fought hard to clinch bronze.

Meanwhile, head coach Rob Alloway took part in the Bev Price Team Championships in Walsall and came away with a silver medal.

A Kazoku-Kan spokesperson said: “These kids are really coming into their own in competitions.

“It’s a joy to see how much fun they have training and even better to see the reactions when they come off the mat.

“They are a credit to their parents whose continued support has shone through.

“We can’t wait to see what the future brings for these youngsters in their judo careers.”

Kazoku-Kan train every Wednesday at 7pm and Friday at 6.30pm at Physique Fitness on the Berry Hill estate in Droitwich.
