DROITWICH Seconds have been crowned champions of the Midlands Reserve League Division Three after they were handed a walkover against Sutton Coldfield Thirds.
But that did not stop them from getting game time as they arranged a friendly against Aston Old Edwardians who they defeated 64-0.
Nat Maginnis (2), Andy Vizor (2), Reflex Stevens (2), Charlie Chalmers, Sam White, Tom Baker and Glen Topping got the tries.
Vizor kicked three conversions while Maginnis kicked four.
Skipper Craig Browne said: “The lads have worked hard throughout the season to get where we are and we wanted to top it off with a winning performance.
“Unfortunately that didn’t happen, but the boys were determined to make it count at Aston Old Eds instead.
“Now we are even more keen to top it all off in our last league fixture against Old Hales this week.
“They are second in the table so it’s going to be a very competitive game.”
