AVONCROFT openers Andy Nicol and Will Sach put on a stunning partnership of 419 in 50 overs against Tenbury to break club and country records.
Having lost the toss on a sunny day at Avoncroft, Tenbury had elected to field.
Avoncroft started slowly against some tight swing bowling getting to 10 overs on 57 without loss.
From then on Nicol and Sach proceeded to hit the bowlers to every corner of the ground with some clean striking and some quick running between the wickets.
At drinks Avoncroft were 155 without loss and looking for a big total.
What they didn’t expect was for the onslaught on the bowlers by the duo.
Nicol was first to bring up his 100 closely followed by Sach.
Nicol then decided to cut lose with one of his 12 6s landing straight on the chairmans car entertaining the every growing crowd.
He finished the innings unbeaten on 210 with 12 6s and 21 4s setting a new Worcester League Division Three record for the highest individual score along with breaking Avoncrofts highest score of all time.
Sach remained calm with all the big blows by Nicol to finish unbeaten on 151 with 22 4s and 2 6s setting a club record partnership of 419 unbeaten in the 50 overs.
Avoncroft then started well with the ball with Paul Athey removing the top four Tenbury batsman all clean bowled finishing with figures of 4-50.
Two wickets for Ben Warwick 2 for Craig Hughes and 1 for Adam Rodway finished off the innings bowling Tenbury out for 163 in 23.2 overs.
