TALENTED gymnasts from Dodderhill School are celebrating success after finishing second in the Midlands ISA Gymnastics Championships in Shropshire.
This was the first competition the team had entered, making the achievement even more special for the school.
Seven schools from the Midlands region entered the Under-11 category and all girls competed the same set floor routine.
They also performed one of three different vaults, the hardest of which was a Handspring Vault.
The Dodderhill School gymnasts were Millie Titterton, Natasha Schoch, Tegan Powell, Ella Kenward, Eimear Tracey (all Year 6) and Matilda Haughton (Year 5).
Hopes are high for more success when the team returns to Shropshire for the National Championships in February 2017.
Headmistress Mrs Mawston said: “This is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates our commitment to and investment in sport development. We are very proud of the team and will be cheering them on at the National Competition.”
