DROITWICH Spa Judo Kan are celebrating after three of its members walked away with bronze medals at the British Open Special Needs Championships at the Stoke Mandeville stadium.
In the senior men’s category, Craig Maycroft was taking part in his debut competition and lost two fights to experienced Germans but did enough to secure bronze.
Liam Jones, a medalist at the recent British Schools SN Championships, competed in the junior boy’s category and defeated both a Dutch and English fighter with ground holds.
However, he lost two more fights before claiming bronze.
Meanwhile, Eve Skillern in the junior girls’ category won the bronze play-off with a throw into a ground hold. Skillern was also a medalist at the British Schools SN event last month.
