THREE junior golfers from Gaudet Luce are celebrating after they booked their place at the UK and Ireland Junior Championships.
Alice Brooks, Amy Deane and Grace Bowen came to the fore in the qualification rounds of the American Golf Junior Championships held at Guadet Luce to secure their place at the UK and Ireland Championships which will be held at Gainsborough Golf Club on Wednesday (August 17).
Contested over 18 holes, the trio of youngsters took three of the five qualifying spots available in the mixed qualifying event.
Brooks, playing off a handicap of five, lead they way as she walked away with the Best Gross title with a hugely impressive round of two over which included a level par streak over the final six holes.
Taking the honours in the Best Net category was Deane who played the round of her life to finish ten under par off 36, narrowly edging out club mate Bowen who finished with an impressive seven under off 18.
The trio will now line up for next week’s final to battle it out with qualifiers from five other regional events in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

“We’re excited to host these great young golfers for the final and, with the help of Ping, aim to make it a truly memorable event.”
Entry to all of the American Golf Championships, including the American Golf nine hole, junior, ladies and senior championships, is free and part of the nationwide retailer’s drive to promote the game of golf and get more people involved the sport.
